Upper School Art
Art 1
In the Upper School, students pursue the creation of art that is pleasing to God (“good art”) and practice the “conscience of craft.” Students will build on the basics of art and apply them to more advanced and longer term assignments. Students will learn about more specialized materials and or methods beyond the introductory level. The purpose and history of art, critical responses to the great works of art, and the use of a variety of materials and methods of art will be taught.
Art 2
Art 2 continues the exploration of the themes, mediums, and methods of Art 1 while allowing students to spend more time on individual projects and special areas of interest.
