Applying

We are Delighted!

We are delighted you have decided to pursue admission for your child. From start to finish, the process typically takes approximately four weeks.

When to Apply

Washington Christian Academy has rolling admission; however, to receive priority consideration for transportation approval and Tuition Assistance awards, submit your application as soon as you have made your enrollment decision. Otherwise, we encourage families to begin the application process as soon as possible, as space in particular grades and classes can be limited.

Step 1 – Completing the Application

We use an online application process that helps families keep track of the process and which forms they need to complete and submit. If you need any assistance, please contact our admission office at admission@washingtonchristian.org.

Step 2 – Student Testing

An important part of our admission process includes ensuring that the students we admit will be successful at WCA.

WCA requires standardized testing scores as a part of each student’s application. Students must have completed testing within the previous academic year and scores must be nationally normed. WCA accepts the following standarized test scores: Terra Nova, Iowa Test of Basic skils, Stanford Achievement Test, Independent School Entrance Exam, and the California Achievement Test. Submit a copy of your child’s recent testing results, or if necessary, WCA can conduct admission testing for a $75 fee. If you indicated such on the application, WCA also requires a copy of your child’s IEP or other test report. Due to the extra review process for these documents, an additional $75 fee applies.

Step 3 – Family Meeting

It is important for us to personally meet every family applying to WCA.

We setup a time for all families seeking admission to WCA to meet with one of our administrators. This gives us an opportunity to further explain the mission and philosophy of education at WCA. It also gives you a chance to ask any questions you may have about the school. If your child will be entering grades 6 through 12, we would need them to attend the meeting along with you.

Step 4 – Admission Decision

When the application file is complete, the Admission Committee will review it. As soon as a decision is made, the Admission Office will inform you by letter.

We look forward to working together with you in the shared goal of educating your children. If at anytime you have questions, please feel free to call WCA at 240-390-0429 or email the Admission Office.
