Middle and High School Choir

Middle School Choir is a beginning to intermediate chorus class. The students will learn basic vocal techniques including posture, breathing, tone quality, diction and language, theory, ear training, and sight singing along with the following basic elements of music: form, melody, harmony, tempo, rhythm and patterns. The class will include a brief history of choral music from early to modern times, along with music from films, operas, Broadway musicals, and special program and holiday music. Materials will include recordings of some of the greatest works of classical choral music as well as varied sheet music and assessments in musicianship and performance in order to better understand, inspire, promote and develop the singer and/or songwriter inside each student. We expect to utilize the techniques learned by sharing at least two performances during the school.
